Google celebrates Ambedkar Jayanti with its Doodle

New Delhi: Google on Tuesday marked the 124th birth anniversary of great social reformer B R Ambedkar with a vintage shade doodle. In the doodle, Dr Ambedkar has been put in a caricature.

When the cursor is put on the doodle, it reads, “Dr B R Ambedkar's 124th Birthday.”

Popularly known as Babasaheb, Ambedkar was an economist, jurist and a social activist. He was conferred with the Bharat Ratna in 1990.
Country is celebrating the day as Ambedkar Jayanti. Also, political parties across the nation have started celebrating the day.
The Congress will start year-long celebration of B R Ambedkar's birth anniversary from his birth place Mhow in what is now Madhya Pradesh.
With Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh and BJP president Amit Shah all set to address a programme on Ambedkar Jayanti in Patna, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar mocked the party saying those who have no faith in the ideology of the Dalit icon were hosting a programme in the state capital.
Also, Jammu and Kashmir Governor N N Vohra and Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed on Tuesday paid their tributes to Dalit icon B R Ambedkar, on the eve of his birth anniversary.
