Cabinet approves release of an additional instalment of Dearness Allowance and Dearness Relief due from 01.07.2023 ..... dtd.18-10-2023

48.67 lakh Central Government Employees and 67.95 lakh pensioners to benefit

            The Union Cabinet, chaired by the Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi has approved to release an additional instalment of Dearness Allowance (DA) to Central Government employees and Dearness Relief (DR) to pensioners w.e.f. 01.07.2023 representing an increase of 4% over the existing rate of 42% of the Basic Pay/Pension, to compensate against price rise. This increase is in accordance with the accepted formula, which is based on the recommendations of the 7th Central Pay Commission.

               The combined impact on the exchequer on account of both Dearness Allowance and Dearness Relief would be Rs.12,857 crore per annum. This will benefit about 48.67 lakh Central Government employees and 67.95 lakh pensioners.

 India Post achieved the milestone of Rollout of RICT DARPAN 2.0 Android Application in one lakh BOs

India post has rolled out Unified DARPAN Android application (DARPAN 2.0) in 1,00,000 (One Lakh) Branch Post Offices as on 03rd October 2023. It is one of the great achievement by the DOP as the RICT Android darpan application is one of the application developed inhouse by the CEPT Mysuru.

Subject: - Regarding issuance of devices and SIM cards to GDS, GDS substitutes and temporary staff posted at BOs (Branch Post Offices).
 
    I am directed to refer to IPPB's letter number IPPB/CSM0/2023-24/63 dated 01.09.2023 on the subject mentioned above and to state that the proposal for providing a new set of devices (mobile + fingerprint scanner+ thermal printer) and SIM card to GDS substitutes/temporary staff for working in BOs in the absence of GDS concerned for use in IPPB owned mobile devices for a limited period not exceeding 3 months has been agreed to by the Competent Authority subject to the following conditions:-
 
(i) Provision of a new set of devices (mobile + fingerprint scanner+ thermal printer) and SIM card to GDS substitutes/temporary staff will be based upon specific recommendation and vetting of KYC details of identified temporary staff by Divisional Head concerned (no delegation of authority allowed).
 
(ii) IPPBs proprietary banking applications and other services will not be allowed in such devices operated by temporary staff.
 
(iii) In case of provision of above mentioned devices to GDS-substitutes, the responsibility for upkeep and maintenance of these devices and SIM card will lies with the concerned GDS substitute only.
 
(iv) In case of provision of above mentioned devices to temporary staff, the responsibility for upkeep and maintenance of these devices and SIM card will lies with the concerned temporary staff only.
 
2. This is issued with the approval of DDG (PBI).
