A large number of people from different parts of the district had converged at the sprawling Bulsar District Cricket Association (BDCA) ground on Saturday morning to write the post cards. The entire programme was conducted by Valsad district administration under the leadership of district collector Dr Vikrant Pandey to express gratitude to the voters for the phenomenal turnout during the Lok Sabha polling on April 30. The postcards were written simultaneously by the residents and posted at virtual post offices set up by the Valsad postal department.

Talking to TOI, Dr Vikrant Pandey said, "Voters in Valsad have broken all
the past polling records with a huge 73.99 per cent turnout in polling on April
30. To commemorate the biggest achievement, we decided to break a Guinness
Record by writing most postcards to the voters from a single location."
Pandey added, "At a time when the habit of writing postcards has almost
died, it was a refreshing sight to see students, elderly and youngsters
scribble their thoughts on the postcards."
