No privatisation of train routes has been done.
However, to provide improved services to the passengers and to attract investment in Railway sector, Ministry of Railways (MoR) has invited applications for induction of 150 modern rakes to run over select routes through Public Private Partnership (PPP).
The list of these train services is appended.
The existing passenger train services shall not be affected by the operation of Passenger train services through PPP mode.
These services to be operated through PPP mode shall be additional trains and aimed at increasing the availability of train services to the public.
