World
Post Day is celebrated each year on 9 October, the anniversary of the
establishment of the Universal Postal Union (UPU) in 1874 in the Swiss capital,
Berne. It was declared World Post Day by the UPU Congress held in Tokyo, Japan,
in 1969.
National Postal Week
9th October is celebrated as "World Post
Day"all over the world.
In India, World Post Day is celebrated as part of
National Postal Week which would commence this year on 9th October and would
end on 15th October, 2013.
