Consequent on the instructions of Govt. of
India with regard to exchange of currencies of Rs. 500/- & Rs. 1000/-
denomination, the Secretary (Posts) has ordered to close all the post offices
including all the BOs for all kind of financial transactions on 09/11/2016 (9th
November 2016).Delivery of mail can be carried out where no financial
transactions are involved. Delivery of COD articles and payment of Money Orders
will not be done.
Non COD articles (Speed Post/Express
Parcel/Business Parcel) can be booked today under BNPL/Advance. Booking of COD
articles may be suspended today as it will cause unnecessary issues in
receiving the COD amount when taken for delivery tomorrow.
This may be brought to the notice of all concerned immediately.
